The plain-English version
Rendering a game at a resolution different from the final display output, then mapping it to the displayed image.
Why it matters
It can change graphics workload and image clarity without requiring the entire interface to use the same resolution.
Let’s make it click
A lower internal scene resolution helps a demanding level while the settings text remains rendered at readable output resolution.
Vibe Bro’s heads-up
Reducing resolution will not necessarily help if the main bottleneck is simulation, asset loading, or another CPU task.
The docs behind it
- Godot — display sizes and rendering resolution scaling

Supported: Internal rendering and output resolution can differ; UI can remain at output resolution. Reducing resolution is correctly not promised to fix CPU work.
